(Transport related Air Pollution and Health impacts - Integrated Methodologies for Assessing Particulate Matter)
Objective: TRANSPHORM brings together internationally leading air quality and health researchers and users to improve the knowledge of transport related airborne particulate matter (PM) and its impact on human health and to develop and implement assessment tools for scales ranging from city to Europe. Over the four years, TRANSPHORM will aim to develop and implement an integrated methodology to assess the health impacts of particulate matter (PM) resulting from transport related air pollution covering the whole chain from emissions to disease burden.
LHTEE Contribution: LHTEE is primarily involved in the assessment of urban concentrations and human exposure to various air pollutants with emphasis on particulate matter, through the application of integrated air quality and exposure modelling systems. In addition, LHTEE will also be contributing to the development of an integrated assessment (IA) methodology, which will be implemented in a full-chain IA tool and applied to transport policies and measures.
