(Integration of Solid waste management Tools into specific settings of European
and Asian Communities)
Objective: The project
‘s main objective is to study specific tools for reducing the amount of waste
disposed of, with emphasis on composting and recycling, as well as to examine
the local cultural and socio-economic characteristics that influence the
application of these tools. Furthermore, the project will contribute to the
information and education of the participating staff on a wide range of solid
waste management issues and the exchange of cultural and scientific background.
The knowledge gained will also be disseminated to implementing authorities and
the local population.
LHTEE Contribution: project management, field and socio-economic
study, development and assessment of managerial and technological scenarios.
